Life's best!
Dr Robert A. Bartosh

I Feel Like a New Person

I was born with clubbed feet and had an amniotic band around my left foot.  I underwent my first surgery before turning a year old and had 4 surgeries total before entering kindergarten.  I underwent intensive physical therapy, braces, taping of my legs, leg exercises, hundreds of trips to the doctor, learning to walk again, casts, metal pins, wheelchairs, walkers, hundreds of x-rays and many tears.  You name it, I probably had it done.

Lindsey

I am now 27 years old and for well over a year I have had some problems with my feet and legs.  I came to see Dr. Bartosh and presented him with my problems.  I explained to him that when I am on my feet for extended amounts of time from working I experience extreme pain in my feet and the back of my legs.  Both of my feet would become severely swollen (my left would always be a lot bigger) and I would experience numbness in my left foot.  If I sat down to elevate my feet they would start to shake.  The pain I felt was severe tightness in the back of my legs and it felt like someone was stabbing me every time I would take a step.  Upon coming home from work my pain would be so severe it would take me around 15 minutes just to get in the house.  In the many mornings after working I dreaded getting up because the pain had me in tears and some mornings I would have to crawl into the bathroom.  Somedays I would just lay on the couch with my feet elevated because the pain was unbearable.

I began seeing Dr. Bartosh for treatment in August of 2007.  I see him twice a week and receive spinal adjustments, extremity adjustments, and laser treatments on my scars.  I also get in the hyperbaric oxygen tank once a week as well.  Since seeing Dr. Bartosh I have seen great improvements!  After leaving my first visit I could walk better and my back felt a lot better as well.  My parents and family could see improvement too.  My scars are not as deep from the laser treatments now.  I have no more numbness in my left foot and the swelling has gone down tremendously in both feet.  My feet no longer shake uncontrollably and the tightness in the back of my legs is almost completely relieved.  My pain upon entering Dr. Bartosh's office was 8 and now after my fifth visit is 0-1.

Dr. Bartosh and his staff are wonderful!  They are always in high spirits and enjoyable to be around.  Dr. Bartosh is really a nice guy and really funny too!!  I would recommend Dr. Bartosh to anyone and everyone.  I have already recommended him to my family and friends.  I know if Dr. Bartosh can help me with everything I have gone through in my life with my legs and feet he can help anyone that walks through his office door.  Give it a shot you will not be disappointed, I know I wasn't!!  You guys are awesome!!

I am so thankful for everything that you have done for me.  If I would have known how much this would have helped me I would have been in your office a long time ago!  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.  You have made my life easier now and I feel like a new person.  The simple things in life I can do now like getting out of bed, going shopping, playing with my kids with little to no pain.  It feels AWESOME!  Again, I am so thankful for everything you have done for me.  I couldn't have asked for anyone better.  I will never be able to thank you enough!

                                                                   Gratefully yours,
                                                                    Lindsey

Meniere’s Disease

In February of 2004 I was diagnosed with menieres disease. It is a disease which not only inhibits your hearing but can be a great annoyance as well, due to the fact there is a constant ringing in the ear with the feeling of fluid inside the ear canal. Sometimes the pressure is so intense it would make me dizzy and unable to perform my day to day chores. I went to my ear, nose and throat specialist who explained to me that there was no real cure for this disease. He stated that the best means of treatment was to have a device placed in my ear, similar to that of a hearing aid, and it would counteract the noise by creating another sound in it’s place. After speaking with this doctor I began to think of a statement my doctor of chiropractic often says to me, “for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction”. I knew that simply covering up a problem was not taking care of it.

On my regularly scheduled visit to my doctor of chiropractic I shared with him my diagnosis, hoping there might be some way he could help. Dr. Bartosh explained to me that when you affect the human body with chiropractic care great things can happen. He explained that in order to restore my health it would require however consistency on my part and doing exactly what he recommended. I replied, “yes” and the road to recovery began.

Dr. Bartosh continued with the regular adjustments as well as giving me supplements i needed for my condition. I also had to come in on a daily basis for cold laser treatments and hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hyperbaric chamber). After approximately 2 to 3 months my Menieres Disease was completely gone. I no longer have even the faintest of symptoms. It took time and dedication on my part to do all that Dr. Bartosh asked of me. In the end to have my hearing back and to be disease free was completely worth it.

Thank you again Dr. Bartosh and you are right, things don’t just happen. There is always a cause.

Thank you so very much,

-Janet B.

Cancer... Adenocarcinoma

What follows is a testament showing that even in situations where one is told “nothing can be done”-something can! This particular patient was told in august of ’04 that he was in stage 4 of terminal cancer of the colon and given no hope for survival. He had gone from a healthy 205 pounds and now was fortunate to tip the scales at 145 pounds. The patient contacted me and after discussing his condition with him he agreed to follow the specific treatment protocol that I had developed. Without going into specific detail the protocol included; chiropractic adjustments, cold laser therapy, a specific nutritional regime, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. At the outset we agreed that our goal would be to treat the “person who had the cancer” and not the “cancer that had the person”.

I then contacted a colleague of mine who agreed to accept my request to work together in the care of this patient. He practices as a medical doctor specifically in the treatment of cancer patients. “As the diagnosis was terminal and there was no hope for survival”, my colleague made it clear that his treatments “would only keep the patient comfortable for his remaining days as the patient had no possibility for recovery”. In spite of our philosophical differences, we combined forces and care for the patient began.

It is now November of ‘05 when this is being written and the patient continues to make improvement, has begun gaining weight, and lives a most productive life. He has graciously allowed me to share this information with you and for this I am grateful.

Never underestimate the ability of the human body -, the fact that there is a god who hears the prayers of his people-, and the power of chiropractic care.

Please let someone know, that what has been done for this patient can also be done for others. When all other resources have been exhausted, we remain ready to accept the most difficult cases.

Shiloh the Shepherd Dog
Shiloh Shepherd Dog

I am writing this testimonial on behalf of my shiloh shepherd. At the early age of 6 he was diagnosed with hip dysplasia, which is not uncommon in the shepherd breeds, but due to his size and weight of 120lbs i didn’t forsee a long future for him. Knowing the effects of this disease on the smaller breeds i was expecting a quick decline in health.

I have always been an avid supporter of chiropractic care having seen the difference and impact it has had on my health. So I thought, why not my dog too!

I began taking my dog in for regular visits to see dr. Bartosh. After only one adjustment I could literally see the difference in “my guy”. Not only was he walking better but you could actually see where the bones once seemed to “push out” were no longer there. Now at 10 years old my dog is still chasing his frisbee and acting like a pup, from his behavior you would think he was still two. But as wonderful as that is dr. Bartosh impressed us once more. My dog was out playing one day and because he is still as active as a pup he managed to tear off the whole back part of his front right paw pad, similar to one of us tearing off the top layer of skin from the middle of the palm to the wrist. Needless to say this was extremely painful for him. I thought all I could really do for was to keep it clean and wrap it with medication. I knew Dr. Bartosh has been working with many patients using his laser therapy, so I decided to ask him if it would work on a cut such as that, but not on a human - on my dog. Dr. Bartosh said, “most definitely”. So I made sure to get my dog to Dr. Bartosh every day so that he could begin on the laser treatments and be there on a consistent basis. For an injury that would have taken weeks to heal, it was back in playing condition in only one and a half weeks.

Now for an animal who has no other choice but to walk on all fours, the quicker the healing process on an injury such as that, the better. During that process, to my surprise not only did it heal his paw, but it also cleared up a severe rash he had developed almost two years ago but was diagnosed as “an allergy and something nothing could be done for”. So on behalf of myself and my dog - we would like to say – thank you for not only the care you have given but for the passion you have for what you do.

Sara Wasson
Life-Changing Accident

My whole life changed on the way to school on December 19, 2000. It was one of the coldest days of the year, and the roads were snow covered and icy. My mother was driving our 1993 Dodge minivan when the front right tire fell off the road on Lynch. When she tried to pull the van back onto the road, she lost control and the van slid into the other lane and hit an oncoming Semi. The van spun out of control and flew off into a ditch. I was thrown from the backseat of the van and landed in the middle of the road down the yellow line.

I woke up in the ICU at Carle hospital after being heavily sedated for two days. Even before I found out that I was paralyzed, I knew deep down that I was hurt. I felt that God had prepared me for the news because the severity of my injuries was no shock to me. My C5 vertebra was completely crushed. Although there were many sharp pieces of crushed bone surrounding my spinal cord, there were no cuts, only bruises and swelling. This was a miracle from God. After the four-hour long surgery to stabilize my neck, the surgeon, Dr. Brown, came out with tears in his eyes and told my parents about my predicted recovery. He said that he thought that I would gain back 90% of what I lost.

Besides my broken neck, my collarbone was broken in two places. I had three fractured ribs, a punctured lung, my right elbow went through my skin, the bottom of my ear was torn off, two of my front teeth plus part of my gums were knocked out, I had glass from the broken window stuck in my skin, and road rash. I had a total of 89 stitches. I developed pneumonia in my good lung, and also had to undergo a blood transfusion.

I could not move my whole right side from my shoulder down. My left side was extremely weak and had loss of sensation. I needed help with everything. I felt trapped inside my own body. I wanted to move, but I could not. No matter how hard I tried, I could not make the right side of my body move. I had high hopes for my recovery, but no one could promise me anything. There was a chance that I would have to spend the rest of my life in a wheelchair. My parents had me moved to the Rehabilitation Hospital of Indianapolis. I met the greatest physical therapist there, Annette Kuehl, who taught me how to walk with a brace and crutch.

Even though I was able to eventually walk without a crutch and brace, I still had a noticeable limp and was not able to do things as before. Because I was right-handed, I had to learn how to do everything with my left hand because my right hand was paralyzed. Everything was different. Simple things like tying my shoes became impossible. Even though I had exceeded the expectations of others, I was not ready to accept this as my best. I knew that God could perform a miracle in me. Even though the surgeon had expected me to gain 90%, I knew that God could give me a 100% recovery.

Four years after my life-changing accident, I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Bartosh. He told me that he could help me to be better than what I was. After his first cold laser treatment on my right leg, I noticed an immediate change. My leg felt strong! I was so excited! Since my first rehab visit, I have spent many hours in the hyperbaric oxygen chamber and undergone numerous cold laser treatments. The fingers on my right hand are stronger, and I can move them faster now. I can walk much quicker and my limp is not nearly as noticeable. For the first time in four years, I can bend my right toes and jump up and down. I never would have gotten this far without Dr. Bartosh. God has used him to give me my miracle.

The Deer Slayer

My injuries were caused in a motorcycle collision with a deer, which resulted in a dislocation, and compound fracture of my left ankle. My foot was connected to my leg by only muscle and skin and I had to undergo an emergency surgery. The technical surgical terms were open reduction of distal tibiofibular joint disruption with fixation, open reduction of lateral malleolus fracture with fixation, repair of 2 ligaments, and debridement of surrounding skin, tissue, and muscle. I now have a plate and multiple pins and screws. After 5 days lying in the hospital, I underwent skin grafting.

During the next six weeks, the road to recovery was very slow. The pain was very excruciating with even a bed sheet lying loosely over my foot causing discomfort. I was on narcotic pain medicine which reduced my pain to a tolerable level. I also had to deal with swelling, stiffness, and discoloration. Keeping the foot elevated was a must to alleviate the severe throbbing that started every time I put my foot down.

Did I mention this went on for 6 grueling weeks? My wife currently sees Dr. Bartosh and had cold laser treatments in the past on a leg sprain with immediate relief. She made me an appointment and after the first cold laser treatment, I also experienced immediate results. I lost over ¼” in swelling before leaving the doctor’s office. This resulted in increased mobility and my pain was reduced. (I was still on the pain medication prescribed by my orthopedic surgeon.) The second treatment was two days later. My swelling reduced an additional 1/8” and the throbbing quit. I stopped taking my pain medication. On my third trip to Dr. Bartosh, I started receiving hyperbaric oxygen treatment. I am convinced that Dr. Bartosh has enhanced my recovery time. Both the laser treatments and hyperbaric oxygen treatments have allowed me to make remarkable progress in recovery. I am exercising the ankle to regain flexibility and range of movement. My circulation has also improved. My only regret is that I did not stop by his office on the way home from the hospital.

I recommend Dr. Bartosh to everyone I meet who have similar injuries or symptoms.

Dr.Bob Asks some important questions of interest to Danville residents - Chiropractor Danville Dr.Bob Asks...

How do you "catch" a cold?
Simply lower your resistance by avoiding the proper rest and exercise, eating lots of sugar and junk food, putting up with emotional stress and neglecting your nervous system by avoiding your chiropractor. You won't have to catch a cold because it will catch you!
Which organs are extra?
You don't have any spare parts. Sure, we can survive without our tonsils, appendix, gall bladder and several other tissues, but each serves a purpose. We chiropractors recognize this. So the chiropractic approach I use in Danville is to reduce nerve interferences to the control and regulation of every tissue, organ and system of your body.
